Back in the beginning of the year, we wrote a blog called “Resolutions and Rhythms”. It was all about how we can work to make our New Year’s resolutions achievable and something to be excited about. Well, here we are, about to enter August and I have one question for you… How are those resolutions coming along?
Some of you may be reading this and saying “oh yea….I totally wanted to get that done!” or “Man, I totally forgot about those.” Some of you may be on target with your resolutions, and if you are – good job!!!
If you have gotten off target with the goals you wanted to accomplish during 2015, that’s okay. Take the time now to revisit where you wanted be and where you wanted your company to be at this point in the year. What can you do to get back on track?
It is easy to get caught up with summer activities, vacations, and distractions. Maybe you are slammed with jobs, or trying to juggle multiple projects both at work and home. Either way, it is time to get refocused! A few suggestions:
- Check in with your team: Set-up a meeting with your immediate team and discuss your sales objectives, internal priorities, and wish list of tasks that you would like to see done between now and the end of the year. Getting everyone aligned will help create the momentum you need.
- Set Rhythms: What time do you absolutely need to set aside with your team or individually that will help hold you accountable to achieving your goals.
- Recharge: It is easy by this time of year to feel jaded and a little burnt out. What can you do for yourself to clear your headspace and unplug. It is usually right in the middle of thinking you can’t take a day off when you actually need it the most.We have found that a key factor in staying consistent is discipline. Start small and remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day – so if you are feeling discouraged because you’re a little behind from where you wanted to be, don’t worry. It’s never too late to start again.
